Play it while your coffee or tea brews, before you look at your phone. It takes two or three minutes. Hold the warm mug, look out of a window if you can, and let the day start with something good.

01Coffee in hand, before the phone. I start the day with what I already have.
02This warm cup and these quiet minutes are mine, before anything is asked of me.
03Whatever kind of night it was, my body did its best to rest.
04Gray or gold, the light outside looks a little different every morning.
05I’m grateful for the people I’ll see today, and the ones I’ll only think about.
06Having a reason to get up today is a good thing.
07Something small is worth looking forward to today, even just lunch.
08Feeling cheerful isn’t required. Gray mornings have good things too.
09Starting with thanks helps me notice more good things as the day goes on.
10One more slow sip, and I carry this into the day.

Why it’s written this way
The first minutes of the morning often go straight to the phone, and the day starts with other people’s news and requests. This loop gives those minutes to something else. It begins with the simplest things in front of you: the warm cup, the quiet, the light outside.
The notes move outward in order, from the cup in your hands to the night’s rest, the light at the window, the people you’ll see, and the day ahead. Each is a single thing you can actually notice, which makes gratitude feel real rather than forced.
The note about not having to feel cheerful is there for gray mornings and low moods. Gratitude is noticing, not a performance of happiness. The small thing to look forward to gives the morning a bit of lift. It ends with one more sip, a physical cue to carry the feeling into the day.
